Elisabeth "Lava" Lawaczeck, DVM

Elisabeth "Lava" Lawaczeck, DVM has had a varied and accomplished career. From 2000-2009, they were the State Public Health Veterinarian for the Arizona Department of Health Services, where they also served as Special Projects Coordinator. In this role, they responded to public health concerns of suspicious packages during the anthrax letters after September 11th, coordinated a statewide exercise for mass vaccination and mass medical supply needs in response to a large outbreak or pandemic, and coordinated enhanced surveillance for bioterrorism agents. From 2009-2013, they were the Director of Public Health for Ouray County, where they oversaw federally-funded grant work for a six county region to incorporate mental healthcare into primary care settings, directed a stigma reduction campaign, and managed a marijuana state tax funded grant for substance abuse prevention in youth. Since 2019, they have been the owner of Lava Bee Well, LLC, where they are an Author of Stillness and Wilderness: A Bold Ride from Despair to Deep Wisdom and Love and a Holistic Health, Life & Spiritual Emergence Coach, coaching clients in mid-life transition through career changes or overcoming challenges in the workplace, and clients navigating recreating their life after a spiritual awakening. In 2021, they began a contract with Arootah as a Life Coach.

Elisabeth "Lava" Lawaczeck, DVM has a diverse educational background. Elisabeth attained their D.V.M. from Colorado State University between 1993 and 1997. After that, they attended Portland State University for a year in 1998-1999, and Arizona State University for a year in 2005-2006, both in the field of Public Health. In 2018-2019, they attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where they obtained a Certificate in Health and Wellness Coaching. Elisabeth also attended the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus for a year in 2018-2019 to study Motivational Interviewing. Lastly, they obtained a Spiritual Emergence Coach Certificate from Integrative Mental Health for You in 2019-2020, and a Certified Life Coach Certificate from Life Purpose Institute Inc in 2020.
