José Martinez is currently a PhD student and NDSEG Fellow at Northeastern University, where research focuses on the Directed Assembly of Particles and Suspensions (DAPS) Lab. Prior experience includes roles as a Materials and Process Engineer at Northrop Grumman, where leadership in the Archinaut Program and investigation of composite materials were key responsibilities, and as a Materials Engineer at SpaceX, overseeing non-destructive evaluation of composite structures. Previous leadership as Aerodynamics & Composites Lead at Northwestern Formula Racing included managing a team of engineering students and significant contributions to aerodynamic component design. Early research positions involved work at Argonne National Laboratory and VPD Group, leading to advancements in nanomaterials and 3D printing. José holds a Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and is pursuing a PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University.
