Domi Stickens

Vice President, Head Of Discovery And Translational Sciences at Arrakis Therapeutics

Domi Stickens has over 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. In 2000, they began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Francisco, where they identified the tumor suppressor gene EXT2 and developed genetically engineered mouse models for MHE and arthritic disease. In 2005, they joined Merck as a Principal Scientist, where they managed research priorities of two small molecule lead optimization teams and led direct reports and cross-functional teams on proof of concept studies. Domi also built a musculoskeletal team in Boston, co-chaired a cross-site musculoskeletal new target committee, and established a translational medicine platform based on relevant primary human cells and tissues. In 2015, they became a Sr. Director at Mitobridge, Inc. (an Astellas company), where they were a member of the company's executive leadership team and built a world-class translational sciences team. In 2021, they began working as an Independent Consultant for D3A Biopharma Consulting, providing expertise in all stages of drug discovery. Most recently, in 2022, they were appointed Head of Discovery and Translational Sciences at Arrakis Therapeutics.

Domi Stickens obtained a Ph.D in Genetics & Development from UT Southwestern Medical Center between 1994 and 2000, and a BS/MS in Biology from the University of Antwerp between 1988 and 1993.
