Kapila Ponnamperuma

Kapila Ponnamperuma's work experience begins in 1999 as a Systems Engineer at Ceylinco Life. Kapila then worked as a Lecturer and later as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya from 2002 to 2011. In 2011, they joined the University of Aberdeen as a Research Associate and later became a Research Fellow in Natural Language Generation. During this time, they worked on a project to develop a system for generating natural-language blog posts using data from sensors attached to red kites. In 2013, they joined Arria NLG as a Senior Natural Language Engineer and later became the Lead NLG Engineer. Currently, they are the Head of Technology and Integrations for Arria NLG.

Kapila Ponnamperuma completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Engineering/Industrial Management from the University of Kelaniya Sri Lanka from 1994 to 1998. Later, from 2002 to 2007, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at Keele University.
