Sylvain Josserand

Sylvain Josserand has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. Sylvain started their career as a Petroleum Engineer at Total, where they gained expertise in well productivity and artificial lift for international projects. Sylvain then moved on to become a Drilling and Completion Engineer, where they designed and executed complex HPHT offshore exploration campaigns and stimulated continuous improvement activities on conventional gas development campaigns. Sylvain also supervised drilling operations for onshore conventional oil.

Later, Sylvain joined Santos Ltd as a Senior Drilling and Completion Engineer, where they developed capabilities and provided expertise in unconventional gas development. Sylvain mentored a team and oversaw drilling operations in the Bowen basin. Sylvain also led critical rig and capability upgrades.

In more recent roles, Sylvain served as the Head of Strategy, Architecture, Data & Analytics, ICT at Arrow Energy, providing strategic leadership. Sylvain also worked as an Adjunct Associate Professor at The University of Queensland and served as a mentor at various organizations including Arc Hardware Incubator, Modulr Tech, and Unearthed. Throughout their career, Sylvain has demonstrated strong technical expertise, leadership, and mentoring abilities.

Sylvain Josserand's education history is as follows:

In 2019, Sylvain Josserand attended Future Directors and completed a Governance Training for Next-Gen Leaders program, focusing on governance.

From 2005 to 2006, Sylvain Josserand pursued a Master of Petroleum Engineering degree at IFP School, specializing in Petroleum Engineering and Project Development.

Between 2002 and 2005, Sylvain Josserand attended École des Mines de Saint-Étienne, where they completed a Joint Master of Engineering & Management program. The program covered Energy, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics & Management.

In 2004 and 2005, Sylvain Josserand also obtained a Master of Science & Technology - Research degree from École des Mines de Saint-Étienne. The degree focused on mathematical modeling and applications.

In addition to their formal education, Sylvain Josserand has obtained various certifications, including Certified in Cybersecurity (CC) from (ISC)² in October 2022, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals and Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals from Microsoft in March 2022, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2022, The Open Group Certified: TOGAF® 9 Certified and The Open Group Certified: TOGAF® Standard, Version 9.2 from The Open Group in December 2021, and several other certifications in cloud computing, executive presence, data governance, and strategic thinking.

In January 2017, Sylvain Josserand also obtained the APEC Engineer - Mechanical & Petroleum Engineering certification from Engineers Australia, and the NER (National Engineering Register) - Petroleum Engineering certification from Engineers Australia.
