Fred Fleitz is the GVP of Chemistry, Manufacturing, & Controls at Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals. Fred has over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on process R&D.

Fleitz started their career at Cambridge Major Laboratories, Inc. in September 2010 as a Senior Manager of Process R&D. In this role, they were responsible for optimizing synthetic routes to target compounds, establishing key reaction parameters and stability/hold points, identifying and minimizing impurity formation, and ensuring suitability of processes for scale up to fixed equipment. Fred also managed a group of two PhDs and their associates in support of client developmental programs. In 2012, Fleitz became the primary reviewer of all Request for Quotations, and in 2013 they became the liaison to the Scientific Advisory Board. Fred left Cambridge Major Laboratories in June 2014 to join Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals.

At Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Fleitz is responsible for chemistry, manufacturing, and controls. Fred has overseen the successful launch of several products and is an expert in Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis. Under their leadership, Arrowhead has become a leading player in the pharmaceutical industry.

Fred Fleitz earned their Ph. D. in organic chemistry from Stanford University. Fred also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in chemistry from Miami University.

They are on a team with Peter Carignan - VP, Clinical Operations, Erik Bush - GVP, Biology, and Christine Esau - VP, Biology. Fred Fleitz reports to Javier San Martin, CMO.
