Solveig Nelson is a seasoned professional in the field of art history and curatorial practice, currently serving as the Curator of Photography and New Media at the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College since August 2024. Nelson has extensive experience as a writer for Artforum International Magazine since April 2012. Previous roles include ACLS Emerging Voices Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College and Julius Rosenwald Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Chicago, alongside significant curatorial positions at the Art Institute of Chicago and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Nelson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Art History from the University of Chicago, earned from 2010 to 2019, with a focus on Time-Based Media.
