Deana Murfitt has over 20 years of experience in the Human Resources field. Deana began their career in 1999 as an HR Officer at Informix Software Limited. In 2000, they moved on to become the UK HR Manager at lastminute.com. In 2005, they founded Murfitt Consulting Ltd, a HR consultancy specializing in working with leadership teams to handle change as the new normal, especially within fast growth digital/tech scale-ups. Her clients included Last.fm, Huddle, eBay, and mydeco. In 2011, they became the Chief People Officer at Unruly, where they reported to the CEO and was part of the Exec team. Deana scaled the business to 300 people across 20 global locations, and was also the Integration Director following the sale of the business to News Corp in 2015. In 2017, they founded Breakfast People, where they were the Founder and Lead Coach. Deana offered coaching, workshops and consultancy to align people with purpose. In 2021, they were the Chief Of Staff (Interim) at Flock. Currently, they are the Chief Operating Officer (Interim) at Artificial Labs.
Deana Murfitt completed their CIPD at the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development from 2000 to 2006. From 1997 to 1998, they obtained their Masters in Children's Literature from the University of Reading. Deana obtained their BA Hons in English Literature & Theatre Studies from the Royal Holloway, University of London from 1994 to 1997. In 2019, they completed a Certificate in u.lab: Leading Change in Times of Disruption from MITx Courses. In 2018, they completed the Playing Big Facilitators Training with Tara Sophia Mohr in Coaching and Professional Development, as well as the Fundamentals of Executive Coaching from the Co-Active Training Institute. In 2017, they completed the Playing Big Program with Tara Sophia Mohr in Coaching and Professional Development.
