Liz Johnson

Director, Museums And Collections Development at Arts Council England

Liz Johnson has had a diverse range of work experience in the arts and cultural sector. Liz started as a Community Liaison Manager at the University of Leicester in 2004 and later moved on to roles such as Coordinator at the LeicestHERday Trust and Renaissance East Midlands Program Manager at Leicester City Council. Liz also worked at MLA East Midlands as a Learning & Skills Manager and at MLA Council as an Area Engagement Adviser. In 2011, Liz joined Arts Council England as a Relationship Manager and later became a Senior Manager in charge of museums review. Liz then joined the National Trust as a Consultancy Manager before returning to Arts Council England as a Director in museums and collections development.

Liz Johnson holds a Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching from Henley Business School, which they obtained in 2023. Prior to this, they completed their MA in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester in 2003. In 2001, Liz graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Philosophy from the University of York.
