Matt Welsh

Matt Welsh is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and engineering. Currently serving as the Founder of a Stealth Startup since March 2024, Matt previously co-founded Fixie.ai, where $17M in seed funding was raised for a cloud-based conversational AI platform. Notable prior roles include Senior Vice President of Engineering at OctoML, where an engineering team was expanded from 10 to over 80 members, and Engineering Lead at Apple following the acquisition of Xnor.ai. As a Principal Engineer at Xnor.ai, Matt focused on developing efficient AI solutions for embedded devices, and at Google, Matt led efforts to enhance Chrome for emerging markets. Matt's academic background includes a PhD in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BS from Cornell University, along with a professorship at Harvard University, where research encompassed distributed systems and networking.
