Mina Farbood is the current VP of Business & Legal Affairs at ASCAP. Mina has also worked as an Associate Producer & Researcher on various documentary films. In September 2016, they became the Senior Counsel of Business & Legal Affairs at ASCAP.
Mina Farbood graduated from law school in 2007 and immediately began working as an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP. Mina worked there for four years before moving on to Simon + Film LLC in 2011. As Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs, they negotiated and advcoated on behalf of the company's clients. In September 2017, they returned to ASCAP as Senior Counsel.
During their time as a freelancer, Mina worked on a number of documentary films. In 2003, they were part of the team that won an Emmy for Outstanding Investigative Journalism for their work on the documentary "The Farmer's Wife".
Mina is a dedicated advocate for the rights of composers, authors, and publishers. Mina is passionate about their work and committed to protecting the interests of their clients.
Mina Farbood attended Princeton University for their undergraduate degree, where they studied politics. Mina then attended New York University for their Master's degree in broadcast journalism. Finally, they attended Columbia Law School for their Doctor of Law degree.
They work with Leslie Greene - VP, Business & Legal Affairs, Jackson Wagener - SVP, Business & Legal Affairs, and Lale Uner - Senior Counsel, Business & Legal Affairs. Mina Farbood reports to Clara Kim, EVP, Chief Legal & Business Affairs Officer.
