Tessa Blankenship

Tessa Blankenship has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Tessa currently works as a Senior Cloud Data Architect at Ascend.io, a position they started in December 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Verstand AI as a Senior Cloud Data Warehouse Engineer and Data Engineer from December 2020 to December 2022. In this role, they developed and deployed smart data services using Flask and CloudRun and made significant improvements to an existing enterprise data warehouse.

Tessa also has experience in teaching, having worked as an Adjunct Instructor at UC Berkeley Extension from October 2020 to May 2021. Additionally, they held the role of Senior Business Intelligence Developer at Dignity Health Management Services Organization from October 2018 to December 2020. In this position, they led the migration to PowerBI Server 2016 and implemented KPI functionality, enabling departments to analyze and impact expected outcomes.

Tessa Blankenship has a comprehensive educational background in the field of computer and information sciences, with a specialization in information science. Tessa is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, with an expected completion date in 2024.

Prior to their doctoral studies, Tessa obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Applied Data Science from Syracuse University in 2020. Tessa also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Business Analytics from Grand Canyon University, which they earned from 2016 to 2018.

In 2014, Tessa completed an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Information Technology, with a focus on Data Modeling/Warehousing and Database Administration, from the University of Phoenix.

In addition to their formal education, Tessa has several certifications related to their field of expertise. These include being a Google Certified Professional Data Engineer and having completed courses like "Google Cloud Run Deep Dive," "Big Data 101," "Google Cloud Platform Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure," "Data Science on Google Cloud Platform: Designing Data Warehouses," "Data Science on Google Cloud Platform: Exploratory Data Analytics," and "Google Cloud Platform for Enterprise Essential Training." Tessa also holds a certificate as an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Member, obtained from CITI Program, a Division of BRANY, in September 2020. Furthermore, Tessa has obtained the Professional Data Engineer certification from Google Cloud in March 2021. Lastly, they hold a Database Administration Certificate from the University of Phoenix.
