Jason Piecora

Vice President, Software Engineering at Ascend Learning

Jason Piecora has a strong background in technology and software leadership, with experience spanning various industries. Jason is currently serving as the Vice President of Software Engineering at Ascend Learning since January 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Technology Officer at Kognito in 2019.

From 2010 to 2018, Jason held the position of Technology Executive at Frontline Education, where they focused on scaling IT practices and integrating enterprise applications for improved data management. Before that, they served as the Chief Technology Officer at Centris Group from 2010 to 2016, where they were responsible for defining software engineering processes and bridging the gap between business and technology.

Earlier in their career, Jason worked at UnitedHealth Group as the Sr. Director of Application Development from 2001 to 2010, where they led software development projects and played a key role in M&A activities. Jason also worked at BCJ Systems as the Manager of Application Development from 1999 to 2001, and at Design Imaging Group, Inc and Creative Computer Designs, Inc in various programming and network administration roles.

Jason Piecora has a strong education background in business administration, information sciences and technology, executive education in leading high-impact teams, and computer science - information science. Jason attended the Penn State Smeal MBA Program and Penn State University for their studies in business administration and information sciences and technology, respectively. Additionally, they pursued executive education in leading high-impact teams at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and studied computer science - information science at Binghamton University.

In addition to their educational qualifications, Jason Piecora also holds several certifications. These include the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) certification from Microsoft, the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification from the Project Management Institute, the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, the SAFe Agilist Certification from Scaled Agile, Inc., and the SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification, also from Scaled Agile, Inc.
