Laura Maloney, LPC, ATR-BC has over 20 years of work experience in the mental health field. Laura currently serves as the Owner and Clinical Director of Summit Counseling Services of Norfolk since 2019. Prior to this role, they worked at Optima Health as an EAP Clinician Coordinator and later as an Employee Assistance (EAP) Clinician. Laura also served as a Team Coordinator in the Clinical Review Department and as a BH Case Manager. In 2010, Laura joined Ascend, a MAXIMUS Company, as a Mental Health Clinician. Laura also holds a position as Community Faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School since 2010. Earlier in their career, Laura worked at The Barry Robinson Center as a Clinician II and Art Therapist from 1998 to 2006.

Laura Maloney, LPC, ATR-BC, holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, which they obtained from Eastern Virginia Medical School between 1998 and 2000. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at James Madison University, earning a bachelor's degree in English and Psychology with a minor in Art from 1994 to 1998. Additionally, Laura holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Art Therapy from Eastern Virginia Medical School.

In terms of certifications, Laura is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), which they obtained from the Virginia Board of Health Professions in April 2002. Laura also holds the certification of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), granted by the Virginia Department of Health Professions in December 2006.
