Ascendis Pharma is looking to hire an experienced Associate Director, Market Access, Payor and Channel Marketing to join our team. Responsibilities will include developing and executing market access strategies and tactics across all relevant customer segments for products in our Endocrinology Rare Disease portfolio, with a primary focus on supporting the anticipated launch of an investigational treatment for hypoparathyroidism currently under review by the FDA. This role requires the ability to be both strategic and tactical, demonstrating strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. The level of the position will be determined and will be commensurate with the experience of the identified candidate.

This role is accountable implementation and refinement of the market access marketing plan through innovative thinking and collaboration with cross functional teams such as Pricing, Contracting & Distribution (PCD), Brand Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, Legal, other Market Access colleagues, external customers and agency partners.

This is a hybrid role that will be based in Princeton, NJ three (3) days/week and will report directly to the Senior Director, National Accounts & Payor Strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute payor and distribution channel access strategies and tactics, including Pre-approval Information Exchange; payor value propositions; and related collateral across channels for launch and in-market products for all segments in the US with appropriate collaboration with Medical Affairs to ensure relevant HEOR initiatives are delivered through account teams to healthcare decision makers.
  • Ensures payer account teams have the tools and resources needed to address potential gap analysis between payer expectations and what the product(s) can deliver.
  • Oversee creation of all HCP team facing access materials and messaging to communicate payor specific coverage as well as geographic overviews at the national, state and territory level.
  • Partner with sales; marketing; patient services; pricing, contracting & distribution, and medical affairs teams to develop effective payor marketing tools, campaigns, and resources to achieve goals established for the US Business Unit.
  • Lead Medical, Regulatory and Legal Review of all market access promotional material, ensuring a high level of collaboration.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies including value and access material development; policy and utilization management data tracking; and others.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape and provide business updates and tactical recommendations to the commercial organization.
  • Evaluate performance of market access strategies and tactics; providing recommendations based on insights.
