James Barge

James Barge is an experienced senior director in corporate affairs and communications, currently leading Asda's Corporate Affairs team since July 2021, responsible for government relations, public policy, corporate communications, and ESG management. Previously held positions include Senior Director of Public Affairs at Asda, Director of Public Policy at ISBA, and Director of Corporate Affairs at Philip Morris International. With a background in political relations and strategic communications, James has also served as a Political Relations Manager for the Labour Party and as a Senior Parliamentary Advisor. Currently a Fellow at the RSA, James holds a BA Hons in Politics from the University of Exeter.
