Karthik Dayanand

Karthik Dayanand is a Senior Product Development Engineer at Asensus Surgical since March 2023, leading Design Verification activities for the LUNA Surgical System. Previously, Karthik worked at BD from September 2019 to March 2023 as an R&D Engineer II in the Design Test Method Development group, where responsibilities included serving as the Design Verification Lead for the capacity expansion of PosiFlush syringes into the China market. An earlier role as an R&D Engineering Intern at BD involved designing a high-volume disposable catheter-related polymer medical device. Karthik's experience also includes working as a Project Assistant at the Indian Institute of Science, where a computational micro-mechanical damage model was developed, as well as internships in mechanical design and engineering at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. Karthik holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Siddaganga Institute of Technology.
