Maitree Dasgupta has a diverse work experience. Maitree is currently the Director - Global Education and Strategic Programmes (GESP) at Ashoka University. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant at Knowledge2Action in South-Asia.

From 2011 to 2021, Maitree held various roles at swissnex India, Consulate General of Switzerland. Maitree served as the Head of University Partnerships and Lead Science 4 Society from February 2013 to May 2021. Before that, they were the Communications and Events Manager from June 2011 to January 2013.

Maitree began their career at Greenpeace in 2006 as a Campaigner for Climate and Energy. In this role, they conducted policy research and advocacy work in renewable energy and climate change. Maitree also led Greenpeace's work on social audits of the government's rural electrification scheme in 2011 and represented Greenpeace India in international renewable energy platforms.

Maitree Dasgupta has a diverse education history. In 2020, they obtained a certificate in Leading with Finance from Harvard Business School Online. In 2018, they completed an Executive program in Stepping into Leadership at the Indian School of Business. In 2008-2009, they earned a Post Graduate diploma in Environmental Law from the National Law School of India University. And in 2004-2006, they obtained a Masters degree in zoology with a specialization in environmental science from Calcutta University, Kolkata.
