Naze Gul Avci, Ph.D. has a diverse work experience beginning in 2006. From 2006-2007, they served as an intern in Genetic Laboratories at Istanbul University, Institute for Experimental Medicine (DETAE) and Industrial Microbiology Laboratories at Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. In 2007, they interned at Kadikoy Sifa Hospital in In Vitro Fertilization Laboratories. From 2012-2013, they were a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Houston in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. From 2013-2015, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Neurosurgery. From 2018-2020, they were a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Houston in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Houston Methodist Hospital Research Institute in the Neurosurgery Research Department. Since 2020, they have been a Lead Scientist at Deciduous Therapeutics and, as of 2022, they will be a Senior Scientist at Ashvattha Therapeutics, Inc.

Naze Gul Avci, Ph.D. obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Houston. Prior to that, they received their Master of Science (MS) in Bioengineering from Marmara University between 2008 and 2011. Naze Gul also obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Halic University between 2004 and 2008. Before that, they attended Saint-Joseph French High School between 2001 and 2004 and Sainte Pulcherie French High School between 1996 and 2001. Additionally, they obtained two certifications from LinkedIn in 2020: Learn Emotional Intelligence, the Key Determiner of Success and Learning R (2013).
