Periklis Sotiris

Fermentation Scientist at Biosyntia

Periklis Sotiris has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies.

Starting in 2015, they worked as an Assistant Web Designer at Nommax until 2017.

In 2018, they interned at The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability, where they conducted yeast fermentations and examined microbial adaptation in extreme conditions. Periklis also completed a thesis on L-asparaginase production by yeasts, testing the effect of low temperatures on the enzyme.

From 2019 to 2021, they worked as an Exchange Admissions Student Assistant at DTU - Technical University of Denmark, where they interacted with exchange students and prepared academic documents. This role highlighted the importance of communication skills.

In 2021, Periklis joined Chr. Hansen for their MSc thesis, which they completed in September. Finally, they are currently working as a Research Assistant at Biosyntia, where they are involved in research activities.

Periklis Sotiris pursued their education in the field of engineering, specifically in biotechnology and chemical engineering. In 2013, they commenced their studies at NTUA, where they earned an integrated bachelor's and master's degree in Chemical Engineering. This program lasted from 2013 to 2018, and the degree encompassed 300 ECTS credits. Later, in 2017 to 2018, Periklis attended DTU - Technical University of Denmark as an exchange student, focusing on Chemical Engineering. Finally, from 2019 to 2021, they continued their education at DTU and obtained a Master of Science in Engineering (MSc) degree with a specialization in Biotechnology.
