Mukhtor Khamudkhanov

Mukhtor Khamudkhanov has worked in a variety of positions related to energy and infrastructure development in Central Asia. Mukhtor began their career in 1995 as a senior expert in the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations of Uzbekistan. In this role, they were responsible for coordinating the ministry's work with international financial institutions. From 1994 to 1995, they also worked as a research coordinator for the Center for Economic Research Project, where they prepared analytical reports on various sectors of Uzbekistan's economy.

In 2001, Khamudkhanov joined the World Bank Group as a short-term staff member in the Infrastructure Sector Unit of the Office for Europe and Central Asia. In this position, they were responsible for the engineering, institutional, and financial aspects of infrastructure projects in Central Asia. Mukhtor left the World Bank Group in November 2001 to join the Asian Development Bank as the director of the Energy Division.

Mukhtor Khamudkhanov has a Master's Degree in Financial Management from the Center for Financial and Management Studies at the University of London in the United Kingdom. Mukhtor also has a Master's Degree in Economic Policy Management from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University in New York, NY, USA. In addition, they have a certificate from the Pew Economic Freedom Fellows Program in International Economics from the School of Foreign Service at Washington, DC, USA. Mukhtor also has a Diploma in International Trade Policy from the World Trade Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. Finally, they have a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from the School of Industrial Power Engineering at Tashkent State Technical University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Mukhtor also has an Engineer's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the School of Power Engineering at Tashkent State Polytechnic Institute in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

They are on a team with Dong Kyu Lee - Director, Transport & Communications Division, Emma Veve - Deputy Director General, and Jingmin Huang - Director, Urban Development & Water Division. Their manager is Leah Gutierrez, Director General, Pacific Department.
