Pradeep Tharakan

Pradeep Tharakan is an accomplished professional in the field of energy transition, with extensive experience at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) since December 2009, where currently serving as Director of Energy Transition. Pradeep has led initiatives related to blended finance for energy investments, green hydrogen roadmaps, off-shore wind development, and carbon capture in the Asia-Pacific. Previous roles include Regional Advisor for Energy Transition Finance in South Asia and Unit Head for Sovereign Energy Operations in the Greater Mekong subregion, focusing on coal to clean energy transitions. Prior to ADB, Pradeep served at the International Resources Group, where responsibilities included promoting clean energy deployment across multiple countries. Pradeep holds a PhD in Environmental Science, a Master of Public Administration from Syracuse University, and an MBA focused on Green Businesses from the Indian Institute of Forest Management.
