Patron Experience Manager - The Buddy Holly Hall Of Performing Arts And Sciences at ASM Global

Shawn Ward has a diverse work experience in various roles related to arts administration, customer service, and marketing. Shawn started their career in 2015 as a Front Desk Agent at Best Western International, where they were responsible for overseeing daily hotel operations. In 2017, they became an Assistant Front of House Manager at the Gallo Center for the Arts, where they coordinated with different departments to meet the Front of House needs of performances and events.

In 2019, Shawn joined the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts as an Administrative Coordinator for the East Lubbock Student Arts Promise program. Shawn conducted oversight for the after-school arts education program and managed undergraduate instructors and volunteers.

Shawn also had multiple roles at the Texas Tech University School of Theatre & Dance, including Front of House Supervisor, Box Office Manager, Company Manager for the WildWind Performance Lab, and Assistant Marketing Manager. In these positions, they trained and supervised staff, created schedules, implemented online operations models, and managed social media marketing.

Shawn has been involved in arts organizations outside of the university as well. Shawn served as an Arts Administration Fellow at the Charles Adams Studio Project, where they provided administrative support and handled donor correspondence. Shawn also worked as a Camps Assistant at the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts, assisting with coordinating and managing their Spring Break Camp.

Furthermore, Shawn has experience in the nonprofit sector. Shawn served as a Membership and Communications Intern at Texans for the Arts, where they created a handbook and provided support for virtual meetings. Shawn also worked as a Development Intern at the South Plains Food Bank as part of their AmeriCorps VISTA service. In this role, they oversaw volunteer check-in, updated donation data, and conducted research on email marketing techniques.

Lastly, Shawn had a role as a Social Media Intern for the Public Art Program at the Texas Tech University System. Shawn marketed the university's public art collection and managed social media platforms.

Currently, Shawn works for ASM Global - Official as a Box Office Coordinator at The Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts and Sciences. Shawn is responsible for managing ticketing aspects of events and providing support to ticket sellers. Shawn also holds the role of Front of House Lead, supervising an usher team and overseeing the volunteer usher program.

Throughout their career, Shawn has demonstrated strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills in various arts-related positions.

Shawn Ward has an extensive education history. Shawn completed their Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Arts Administration at Texas Tech University from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they pursued their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; Management, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship at California State University, Stanislaus from 2013 to 2019.

In addition to their academic achievements, Shawn has also obtained various certifications. Shawn completed Social Media Marketing and Content Marketing certifications from HubSpot Academy in December 2021 and October 2021, respectively. Shawn is also certified in Heartsaver First Aid/CPR/AED from the American Heart Association, which they obtained in October 2021. Furthermore, they have Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross, obtained in July 2017.
