John Godwin

John Godwin is an experienced law enforcement professional currently serving as a Police Officer at Bellefontaine Police Department, focusing on the Special Response Team and as a School Resource Officer at Bellefontaine Middle School since February 2024. In addition to this role, Godwin is an Adjunct Faculty member at Clark State College and a Unit Instructor at the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy. With an extensive background as an instructor at various training organizations, including Silverback Safety and Training Solutions, ALERRT, ALICE Training, and ASP, INC, Godwin has contributed significantly to police training and community safety initiatives. A retired Sergeant from the Logan County Sheriff's Office, Godwin amassed over two decades of service and has military experience as a Petty Officer First Class in the US Navy, where deployment included Operation Iraqi Freedom.
