Michael Walker

Michael Walker has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Michael is currently working as the Director of HRIS & Payroll at Aspen Aerogels since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at HMSHost from 2012 to 2022, holding positions such as Director of HR Technology and Sr. Manager of HR Technology. Michael also worked as a Sr. HRMS Security Analyst at HMSHost from 2012 to 2015. Before joining HMSHost, Michael worked at WMATA in 2011 as a PeopleSoft & Oracle Security Administrator. Michael began their career in 1999 as a Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Operator at Ideal Steel and later held similar positions there in 2003. In 2001, they worked as a Manpower Database Analyst in the United States Marine Corps and also served as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk at Exhibit Works. Michael briefly worked as a Help Desk/PC Technician at Plunkett & Cooney, P.C. in 2001. Prior to their civilian career, Michael served in the United States Marine Corps, holding roles such as Congressional Liaison Representative, Assistant Congressional Liaison/Admin, and Kuwait Liaison for Joint Forces. Overall, Michael has a strong background in HR technology, HRIS management, security administration, and database analysis.

Michael Walker attended Lee M. Thurston High School from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained their High School Diploma in General Studies. In addition to their high school education, they also earned a Certificate of Completion in Fundamentals of HR Management from the American Management Association in September 2016.
