Aaron Bartell

Aaron Bartell provides legal and strategic advice across Aspen’s business with respect to acquisition, development, financing, and sale of solar projects; commercial transactions; risk management and compliance; capital raising and deployment; and company governance and operations.

Mr. Bartell came to Aspen from Sol Systems, where he served in an executive capacity as the company’s principal internal counsel throughout his tenure. Before that, Mr. Bartell spent more than a decade at two of the top law firms in the renewable energy industry. Most recently, he was Senior Counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, where he represented sponsors, investors, and lenders in a wide variety of M&A and financing transactions involving renewable energy projects, with an emphasis on utility-scale and distributed generation solar. Prior to joining Akin Gump, he was an associate at Chadbourne & Parke LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright LLP), where he was a member of the project finance practice after starting his career in the firm’s telecommunications, media, and technology practice. Mr. Bartell received his B.A. in History from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
