Aspen Valley Hospital

Founded in 1891, Aspen Valley Hospital (AVH) is one of the most sophisticated critical access hospitals in the country. The numerous accolades and awards earned are a tribute to the tradition of high-tech and high-touch care. AVH houses 25 total inpatient beds. The Hospital also provides round-the-clock, state-of-the-art emergency care, with a Level III trauma designation. A diverse medical staff and skilled clinical teams who manage care across a multitude of service lines meet both the routine and complex needs of area residents and visitors from around the world. AVH manages over 80,000 patient encounters each and every year. Care is offered at the main campus in Aspen and also via its network of care in convenient locations in downtown Aspen, Snowmass Village and Basalt. AVH also has immediate connectivity with higher-level hospitals throughout Colorado and manages care for patients by interfacing with their “home” physicians to continue treatments, provide diagnostic testing and monitor conditions. AVH’s recent clinical affiliation with Hospital for Special Surgery — the #1 orthopedic hospital in the country for nine years in a row — recognizes the incredible tradition of exceptional orthopedic services offered that date back to the 1890s when injured silver miners sought care at our Hospital. AVH is so much more than a hospital. It is a network of care, serving the needs of our community today and tomorrow.
