Tomos Harris, PhD

Tomos Harris, PhD has a diverse range of work experience in research and development engineering. Tomos currently holds the position of Senior Research and Development Engineer at AssistMe since July 2022. Prior to this, from December 2019 to July 2022, they worked as a Sensor Development Engineer at innoME GmbH, where they focused on developing flexible and low-cost electrochemical sensors for various applications.

Before joining innoME GmbH, Tomos worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Université de Montréal from July 2019 to November 2019, investigating the effects of surface functionalization on silver nanoparticles for electrochemical reduction of CO2. Tomos also held the position of a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Freiburg, where their research focused on developing methods for immobilizing enzymes and molecular catalysts on nanostructured electrodes and transparent conductive oxide materials, respectively.

Tomos also has experience as a Founding Member in R&D at Technische Universität Berlin, where they worked towards commercializing a low-cost method for producing functionalized silica nanomaterials as heterogenous catalysts. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at Technische Universität Berlin and The University of Freiburg, where they contributed to various research projects.

Tomos Harris, PhD, obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from UCL from 2009 to 2012. Tomos then pursued further education at UCL and completed their Master of Research degree in Molecular Modelling and Materials Science from 2012 to 2013. Following this, Tomos joined Technische Universität Berlin, where they studied Chemistry and earned their Doctor of Philosophy degree from 2013 to 2018.
