Rogelio Insignares

Rogelio Insignares has over 20 years of work experience in the engineering field. Rogelio began their career in 1999 as a Chief Engineer at Carbograneles SA, where they directed technical operations of the coal loading business process and supervised and planned preventive and corrective maintenance programs. In 2003, they moved to Rai Design as a Design Engineer. From 2004 to 2015, they were a Senior Design Engineer at Genicon, Inc., where they provided engineering leadership with full responsibility for product design and development for trocar/cannula system, lavage, electrosurgical instrumentation, and specimen bags. In 2015, they became the Chief Executive Officer at ShineMed, where they successfully established a medical device manufacturer of GI surgical staplers and provided executive leadership and strategic direction with full responsibility for business operations, global product development, and management. From 2014 to 2020, they were a Design Engineer at Novan Design. In 2020, they took on the role of Lead Engineer at Tech Mahindra, where they led the offshore product development team in the re-design of multiple subsystems of the heart lung machine system and interfaced with clinical and marketing teams to define unmet clinical needs and translate Voice-of-Customer requirements to design requirements. Currently, they are a Senior Research and Development Engineer at FlexDex Surgical.

Rogelio Insignares has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad del Norte (1999) and is currently pursuing a Mastering Design Thinking degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management (expected completion 2022).
