Tracy A. Stone AIA has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Tracy A. began their career as an architect at Kappe Architects Planners from February 1986 to June 1991. Following that, they founded their own architecture firm, Tracy A. Stone Architect, in June 1991, where they served as the principal architect. Tracy A. obtained their architectural license from the State of California in 1989.

Tracy also had teaching experience as an adjunct faculty member at Woodbury University from September 1999 to December 2015, and as an instructor at Art Center College of Design from 1996 to 2006.

Apart from their architectural practice and teaching positions, Tracy played active roles in various organizations and committees. Tracy A. served as the Co-Chair of the AIA LA Government Outreach Committee from January 2022 to December 2022 and as the Co-Chair of the AIA Committee on the Environment from January 2010 to January 2011. Tracy was also a Board Member of the LA Prop K RVNOC, where they oversaw the implementation of Proposition K funds for City of LA parks and recreation facilities, from October 2010 to November 2010.

Furthermore, Tracy held leadership positions in several non-profit organizations. Tracy A. was the President of the Board for the Elysian Valley Arts Collective since its establishment in 2009. This organization focuses on promoting the arts and artists in the Elysian Valley neighborhood of Los Angeles and organizes the annual Frogtown Artwalk. Tracy was also Vice President of the Association for Women in Architecture + Design from October 2022. Their current role is as the Director for Political Outreach at ACLA Architecture for Communities Los Angeles since January 2023.

Tracy A. Stone AIA has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from Cornell University, which they obtained from 1980 to 1982. They then pursued a Master of Architecture degree from The University of Texas at Austin, completing it from 1982 to 1985. Tracy also attended Colorado College from 1977 to 1979 for liberal arts education. Prior to their college education, they received a high school diploma from Punahou School in 1977. Tracy has additional certifications including being a Licensed Architect by the California Board of Architectural Examiners and a LEED AP BD+C from the United States Green Building Council.
