Rand Ghayad, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience spanning various prestigious organizations. Rand is currently the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President of Policy & Economics at the Association of American Railroads. In addition, they are a Global Fellow at The Wilson Center. Previously, they served as an Adjunct Faculty in Economics and Public Policy at Harvard University. Furthermore, they held the position of Vice Chairman of the Commission on Employment at the City of Alexandria, Virginia. Rand also worked as the Head of Economics and Global Labor Markets at LinkedIn, where they provided thought leadership in macroeconomics, labor, and policy. Prior to that, they were a Senior Macroeconomic Advisor at the Financial Oversight & Management Board for Puerto Rico, advising on fiscal responsibility and access to capital markets. Rand Ghayad also served as an Economic Advisor at the International Monetary Fund, providing counsel on macroeconomic and trade matters. Rand worked as a Senior Economist & Consulting Expert at The Brattle Group, evaluating proposed mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, they served as a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, contributing to analysis and research on inflation, monetary policy, and labor market policy. Lastly, they were a Visiting Scholar at The Brookings Institution.

Rand Ghayad, Ph.D. holds a Ph.D. in Labor and Macroeconomics from Northeastern University. Rand also earned an MS in Financial Economics and Multinational Commerce from Boston University. In addition, they obtained a certificate in Financial Planning and Digital Payments from Boston University.
