Mikko Mehtonen is an experienced Development Manager at the Association of Finnish Local and Regional Authorities (Kuntaliitto) since September 2011, specializing in analytics, public economy, state grants, statistics, and cost accounting, and providing development, training, and supervision on municipal interests. Prior to this role, Mikko served as a trainee at Local Government Denmark (LGDK) for a brief period in 2016, focusing on a report concerning the "Danish model" of municipal economy management. Mikko's career began at Tilastokeskus, where responsibilities evolved from a trainee role to becoming a Senior Statistician leading a team in data collection and publication of municipal statistics from June 2008 to September 2011. Mikko holds a Master's degree in economics from Tampereen yliopisto, obtained between 2005 and 2010, and also studied at Tampere University of Applied Sciences from 2004 to 2005.
