Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Astec Industries

Aaron Wallerstedt has a diverse work experience in the manufacturing industry. Aaron started their career at Sub-Zero Group, Inc. as a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op, where they designed fixtures and developed 3D models and drawings for existing fixtures. Aaron then joined Calmer Cornheads as a Welder/Assembler/Engineer, where they developed manuals, designed stands for parts comparison, and created welding fixtures to optimize production and quality. After that, they joined Astec as a Mechanical Design Engineer, specializing in designing asphalt plant components using Solid Works and implementing standardized field prints and shop drawings. Aaron later took on the role of Manufacturing Engineer Maintenance Superintendent, where they designed and implemented jigs and fixtures, managed SOPs and process documentation, and implemented lean principles throughout the plant. Aaron then became a Process Engineer at Astec, where they developed design standards, streamlined the ECO process, and created standard documentation for manufacturing. Aaron then advanced to the role of Senior Manufacturing Engineer, where they further optimized processes and contributed to strategic planning. Their next role was as an Oracle Cloud SME, where they designed, trained, and implemented Oracle cloud at multiple locations under Astec, collaborating with various teams to develop the best solution. Currently, Aaron serves as a Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Astec, spearheading operations information gathering, strategic planning, and optimizing current processes across multiple sites.

Aaron Wallerstedt earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial and Product Design from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville in an unspecified year, prior to 2016. Aaron then pursued further education at the same university, completing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering from 2017 to 2018. In addition to their formal education, Aaron obtained a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from GBMP & The Northeast Lean Conference in May 2020.
