Axel M.

Axel M. has a diverse work experience in various leadership roles in finance. Axel currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Astra since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the CFO at Veev from April 2019 to November 2021. Axel also held the position of CFO at Hyperloop One from January to November 2018, and served as the Senior Vice President of Finance from June 2017 to January 2018. Before that, they were the CFO at Hampton Creek from November 2015 to May 2017. Earlier in their career, Axel was the VP, Treasurer at Uber Technologies from January 2014 to September 2015 and the CFO at TuneIn from April 2013 to January 2014. Axel also held various roles at Google, including Assistant Treasurer - Head of Capital Markets, Assistant Corporate Treasurer, International FP&A Director, International Sales Finance Manager, and Senior Financial Analyst. Axel's earlier experience includes working as an Investment Banking Associate - Financial Sponsors Group at Merrill Lynch Inc. and as a Latin America Investment Banking Analyst at Chase Manhattan Bank. Axel M. completed their B.A. degree in Economics & Political Science at Columbia University from 1991 to 1995. Axel then pursued further education at Harvard Business School, where they obtained an MBA degree in General Management from 1998 to 2000.
