Dan Wilson

Director, GNC & Flight Software at Astra

Dan Wilson has a diverse work experience in the aerospace industry. Dan is currently working at Astra as the Director of Flight Control Software. Previously, they held roles at A^3 by Airbus as a Flight Controls and Software Engineer, and at OCI Technologies as the Co-Founder and CEO. Their experience also includes working at The Australian Centre for Field Robotics as a Doctoral Student, and at Martin Aircraft Company as a Jetpack Flight Control Engineer. Dan started their career at Entecho as a Flight Control Engineer Intern. Throughout their career, they have been involved in various projects related to autonomous aircraft, mid-air docking, and UAV close formation flight and airborne docking. Dan has developed expertise in guidance, navigation, and control systems, as well as software development for flight control systems.

Dan Wilson earned their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Mechatronic (Space) from The University of Sydney, where they studied from 2006 to 2009. Dan completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Aerospace Engineering at The University of Sydney from 2011 to 2014.
