Senior Controls And Simulation Engineer at Astranis

Gil Shohet is a Senior Controls and Simulation Engineer at Astranis Space Technologies since November 2021, previously holding the title of Controls and Simulation Software Engineer II. Previously, Gil was a PhD candidate at Stanford University School of Engineering, where research focused on Dusty Plasma Effects in Hypervelocity Impacts under the guidance of Dr. Sigrid Close. Experience includes roles as a Graduate Research Fellow at Sandia National Laboratories, where atomistic simulations of materials were conducted, and as a Graduate Student Researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory, contributing to high-performance computing projects and developing novel methods in plasma modeling. Gil holds a PhD and MS in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Stanford University and a BS in the same field from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
