Ajoke Sobanjo-Ter Meulen

Ajoke Sobanjo-ter Meulen, M.D., M.Sc. serves as the Vice President of Medical Affairs & Policy at AstraZeneca since March 2024. Previously, Sobanjo-ter Meulen held the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs & Policy at Icosavax, Inc. and contributed to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation as a Senior Program Officer for Maternal Vaccine Development. With a strong academic background as an Affiliate Associate Professor in Global Health at the University of Washington, Sobanjo-ter Meulen has also been involved in key roles at CEPI, Novartis, and Merck, focusing on vaccines and global health initiatives. Educational qualifications include an MD from Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, a Dr.med in HIV Virology from the University of Hamburg, and an MSc in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
