Eduard Nieuwenhuijs

Eduard Nieuwenhuijs is an accomplished leader in the pharmaceutical industry, currently serving as the Director of Innovation & Business Excellence at AstraZeneca since June 2022. In this role, Eduard drives local commercial and medical performance, enhances customer engagement, and supports future asset launches by managing a dedicated team. Prior experience includes serving as Business Unit Director for Respiratory & Immunology, Vaccines & Immune Therapies at AbbVie, where strategic brand planning and launch readiness were key responsibilities. Eduard also held various managerial roles at AbbVie, including overseeing Dermatology and Gastroenterology marketing and sales teams, and has a solid foundation in product management from earlier positions at sanofi-aventis. Eduard holds an MSc in Fundamental Bio-Medical Science from Utrecht University.
