Murtuza Bharmal

Murtuza Bharmal is an experienced professional in health economics and outcomes research, currently serving as the Head of Oncology Outcomes Research at AstraZeneca since April 2023. Additionally, Murtuza holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at West Virginia University's School of Pharmacy. Previously, Murtuza held leadership roles at EMD Serono, Inc. as Executive Director of Global Evidence & Value Development, and at Merck Group, where responsibilities included leading evidence strategies for oncology assets. Murtuza's extensive background also encompasses positions at GSK and Quintiles, focusing on global commercial strategy and real-world evidence studies. Murtuza earned a Ph.D. in Health Economics and Outcomes Research and holds an M.S. in Pharmaceutical Marketing from Purdue University, along with a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the Institute of Chemical Technology.
