Russell Schwartz

Russell Schwartz is a skilled perception software engineer currently employed at Astrobotic since January 2024. Previously, Russell worked as an intern at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where a tool was developed to optimize fixed-wing aircraft flight plans. At NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, research focused on terrain-relative navigation for robots and planetary rovers utilizing monocular cameras. Earlier experience includes roles as a software development intern at NCYBER LLC, where an internet speed test app was created, and contributions to software applications at TrebleNetwork. Russell's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and dual Bachelor's degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Maryland.
