Taylor JL Whitaker has a diverse work experience in various roles and positions. They started their career as a Software Developer Co-op at L3 Communications, Mission Integration Division in 2015. From August 2014 to January 2016, Taylor worked as an Information Technology Administrator at Sustainable Urban Mobility, where they were responsible for managing the organization's car sharing service based on electric vehicles.

In August 2016, Taylor joined the University of Arkansas as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, supporting the educational needs of students. They then transitioned to the role of Graduate Research Assistant from January 2018 to June 2019, contributing to research projects at the university.

In 2019, Taylor joined the University of Florida as a Graduate Research Assistant and worked there until July 2020. During this time, they performed research activities and assisted faculty members.

Taylor's most recent position is at Astrobotic, starting in July 2020. They first served as a Rover Flight Software Engineer before being promoted to Senior Software Engineer in January 2022. Currently, Taylor holds the position of Lead Software Engineer - Lunar Surface Systems since January 2023.
