Samuel Laurila is an accomplished aerospace engineer with extensive experience in flight dynamics and computer vision. Currently serving as Computer Vision / Sensor Lead at Astroscale since February 2021, Samuel previously held multiple roles at Northrop Grumman from 2014 to 2021, including Principal Systems Engineer, where significant contributions were made in developing embedded flight software algorithms for advanced sensor systems and leading teams on critical satellite projects. Earlier experiences include tutoring student athletes at the University of Michigan, internships at NASA's Ames Research Center and Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and a position as a laboratory assistant at the Lurie Nanofabrication Facility. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue University.
