Rick Parfitt Ma, Ctm, Psp

Rick Parfitt, MA, CTM, PSP has over 40 years of work experience in various roles related to threat management, assessment, and security. Rick is currently the Director of Threat Management at AT-RISK International, Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a member of The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals since 2014. From 2021 to 2022, they served as a Certified Master Trainer in Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management at the National Threat Evaluation and Reporting (NTER) Office, DHS. In 2021, they were the Threat Assessment Coordinator at the School District of Lee County. From 2018 to 2022, they held the position of Director of Safety and Security at The School District of Lee County, Florida. Before that, they were the Director Public Safety/Chief of Police at Florida SouthWestern State College from 2007 to 2018. Rick'searlier experience includes working as a Lieutenant at the University of Pittsburgh from 1999 to 2007 and as a Captain at Connellsville Police Department from 1979 to 1999.

Rick Parfitt, MA, CTM, PSP has a diverse education history. Rick obtained their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Social Science from PennWest California in 2000. Prior to that, in 1998, they attended the FBI National Academy for a specialized session. Rick also holds a Paralegal certification from Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Fayette- Eberly Campus.

In terms of their undergraduate studies, Rick pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Administration of Justice from the University of Pittsburgh. Rick completed this degree at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in the same field. Additionally, they hold an Associate in Applied Science degree in criminal justice from Westmoreland County Community College.

Rick Parfitt has also acquired several additional certifications. Rick obtained a certificate in Essentials of Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention (WVPI) Programs from ASIS International in June 2022. In October 2021, they earned the designation of Physical Security Professional (PSP) from the same institution. In 2015, they became a Certified Threat Manager through the ASSOCIATION OF THREAT ASSESSMENT PROFESSIONALS, INC. Furthermore, Rick is an ASIS Member, which they obtained in January 2021.
