Mikel Ayala

Mikel Ayala has held a variety of roles in the financial services industry since 2007. In 2007, they worked as Waiting Staff at The Wallace Restaurant, Peyton & Byrne Ltd. Mikel then joined J.P. Morgan in 2009 as part of the Spring Program in Investment Banking and Sales, Trading & Research. In 2009, they also became a Research Fellow at the Instituto de Investigación Tecnológica in the Energy Economics and Regulation Research Group. From 2011 to 2018, they worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in the Financial Institutions Practice Area, first as an Associate, then as a Consultant, and finally as a Project Leader. In 2018, they became Lead Mentor at IE Business School's Business Impact Lab, International MBA Program. Mikel also joined The Cocktail as Strategy Lead, then Strategy Director, and finally Chief Marketing & Data Officer. In 2020, they became Visiting Professor at the College of Europe, lecturing on FinTech, Crypto and the Transformation of Financial Services, and Chief Growth Officer at Atani, working with an A-team of engineers, designers, product managers, data analysts, marketers, business developers and product evangelists to drive the global growth of the Atani crypto trading platform.

Mikel Ayala received their MS in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Pontificia Comillas between 2006 and 2011, earning an Ingeniero del ICAI degree. In 2020, they obtained three additional certifications: Strategy & Insights Expert from Amplitude, Analytics Expert and Implementation Expert from Segment.
