Charles Lee

Charles Lee is a seasoned investment professional and mentor with extensive experience in the technology and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving as a Mentor at Free Ventures since September 2021, Charles advises UC Berkeley startups. As an investor, Charles is actively involved with multiple companies, including Quantified Biology, Alteron Therapeutics, and Atantares Corp., all engaged since 2020. Previously, Charles held the position of Senior VC Associate at Lair East Labs, focusing on early-stage DeepTech startups, and was a VC Associate at The Wharton School, where investment recommendations were made for Seed and Series A startups. Additionally, Charles contributed to urban education as a Teacher with AmeriCorps in 2016-2017. Academically, Charles holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Machine Learning from the University of Pennsylvania and an undergraduate degree in Human Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
