Karl Riesen

Karl Riesen has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Karl currently holds the position of Sr. Director, Alpha Informatix at Alphatec Spine, which they have been in since July 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Director, Alpha Informatix at the same company from November 2018 to July 2022.

Before joining Alphatec Spine, Karl worked at Awarepoint as the Vice President, Business Operations from January 2016 to May 2018. Karl also held the position of Director, Business Development at Awarepoint from December 2014 to January 2016.

Karl gained valuable experience at WD, a Western Digital company, where they served as the Engineering Manager 2, SOC Applications from April 2013 to November 2014. Prior to this role, they were the Principal Applications Engineer, Electronics from June 2009 to April 2013. During their tenure at WD, Karl received promotions from Senior Engineer to Principal Engineer in April 2012 and from Engineer to Senior Engineer in October 2010. Notably, they were assigned as the Applications lead for one of the next-generation hard drive SOCs, where they were responsible for prioritizing and resolving product issues.

Karl began their professional career as an Engineering Services Intern at Qualcomm in September 2008, before moving on to work as a Loss Prevention Intern at Golden Eagle Insurance from June 2007 to August 2007. Karl also gained experience as a Systems Engineering Intern at Takeda San Diego, Inc. from June 2006 to March 2007.

Karl Riesen earned a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of San Diego, from the years 2004 to 2009. Karl later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Marketing/Product Development from UC Irvine from 2012 to 2014. In addition to their academic achievements, Karl Riesen obtained a Certificate in Management for Technical Professionals from UC Irvine in November 2011.
