Dr. Karl Bertram

Dr. Karl Bertram has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. Dr. Karl is currently serving as the Co-founder and Managing Director of ATEM Structural Discovery, a company that specializes in providing innovative cryo-EM solutions for drug discovery and quality control. Prior to this, they worked as a Cryo-EM Scientist and Postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry from January 2019 to October 2021. Dr. Bertram also gained industry experience as an Intern at Bayer Pharmaceuticals from February 2015 to September 2015.

Dr. Karl Bertram's education history begins in 2009 when they enrolled at The University of Bonn. Dr. Karl pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biomedicine, completing their studies in 2012. Following this, from 2012 to 2014, Dr. Bertram attended Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry. Continuing their academic journey, they joined the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry in 2015 to pursue a doctoral degree in Biochemistry, which they successfully completed in 2018, earning the title of Dr. rer. nat.
