Hugh Martin

Hugh Martin is a Principal at Atento Capital, where they lead a 6-person investment team that evaluates new investment opportunities, facilitates the deal-making process, and supports portfolio companies in strategy, hiring and operations. Hugh also manages the firm’s early-stage sourcing efforts and has launched new initiatives that drive social impact in the Tulsa and Northwest Arkansas communities.

Previously, Hugh was the Chairman and Co-Founder/CEO of CommunityCode, an edTech company that teaches computer science principles to diverse K-12 students, educators and schools. Hugh mobilized a cross-functional team of IT professionals and curriculum specialists to develop academic curricula for K-12 students integrating IT fundamentals and professional development in fields of high growth/demand throughout the Southeast. Hugh developed financial and operating models, organizational structure, go-to-market and multi-year growth strategies for CommunityCode, which reached thousands of students, as well as teachers and community members across multiple states.

Hugh is passionate about empowering black/African American business owners and entrepreneurs and is committed to driving investment returns while uplifting the communities of Tulsa and Northwest Arkansas. Hugh has partnered with local and national organizations to bring 100+ diverse executives, investors, entrepreneurs and creatives to Tulsa for Centennial Week events as well as 50+ diverse GPs and LPs for Black Venture Summit. Hugh also serves on the Screening Committee for Techstars Tulsa.
