Julia Dolan

Chief, Forensic Science Laboratory at ATF

Julia Dolan has extensive experience in forensic science, currently serving as Chief of the Forensic Science Laboratory at the ATF since August 1994, overseeing operations and administration of a laboratory with around 50 staff members. Previous roles at ATF include Section Chief of Arson & Explosives, responsible for supervising forensic examiners, and Forensic Chemist, specializing in fire debris analysis. Prior to their tenure at ATF, Julia Dolan worked as a Forensic Scientist for the Virginia Department of Forensic Science, conducting analyses across various forensic domains. Academically, Julia Dolan holds a Master of Science in Chemistry from George Mason University and two Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Maryland and the University of Maryland Global Campus in Chemistry and Fire Science, respectively. Julia Dolan has contributed to the field as an author, collaborating on works published by Elsevier.
