Giorgos Stamtsis is the General Manager of the Hellenic Association of Independent Power Companies since 2014 and also serves as the Co-Founder of Stamtsis kiwifruit orchard since 2016. In February 2024, Giorgos was appointed President of the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency. Previously, Giorgos held the position of Deputy General Manager at the Hellenic Association of Independent Power Companies from 2012 to 2013, and was an advisor to the Secretary General for Energy & Climate Change at the Ministry of Environment, Energy & Climate Change from 2010 to 2012. From 2007 to 2010, Giorgos worked as the Commercial & Trading Manager at Endesa Hellas, and from 2005 to 2007, contributed to Energy Supplies & Trading at Mytilineos Power Generation & Supplies. Giorgos holds a Dr.-Ing. degree in Deregulated Electricity Market from the University of Duisburg-Essen and a Dipl.-Ing. in Electrical Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as well as additional education from the Norwegian School of Economics.
